How to Go Live

First things First! Check your Wi-Fi signal or Cell service to make sure it’s strong enough that your video doesn’t freeze or get dropped. Then, using the Facebook App on your mobile device, you can choose to go Live on your Timeline, Business Page, Group or Event. Any of these locations are great for building relationships with your followers, team, customers and party guests!

Think of a catchy title for your Live video description. You’ll want to make sure you check the privacy settings and set it to public! You can also click on the magic wand to add a filter and make it more fun and exciting.

Tap on FINISH to end the Live stream and then you can save it to your camera roll or share it to your page if you’d like. If you share it to your page it will give other people an opportunity to shop the replay!

Quick Tips

  • It’s a great idea to practice first so you can see how you look and make sure that you’re able to get set up smoothly. Set the practice video to private and rewatch it or tag a friend to give you feedback on it.

  • If possible, use a microphone and a tripod or some DIY contraption that will hold your phone so that your viewers don’t feel like they’re on a roller coaster ride!

  • Stand against a wall with good lighting in front of you.

  • Adding music is fun but make sure it’s copyright-free or you can get into BIG trouble! *A good choice for great tunes is YouTube.com/audiolibrary.

  • Check Lighting and Camera angle. Shoot from above or straight on.

  • Put your phone on "Do not Disturb" mode.

  • When you Go Live, Begin Speaking Immediately. Don't wait for people to show up.
